Switching a TMS or changing an LSP at scale is disruptive. The decision is typically hurried because the reason for the change is unmet quality or service expectations. In other words, localization operations are live when the migration needs to happen.

What is the true cost of a migration? Consider a hypothetical case where the TM hygiene has been neglected:

• 40,000+ segments built in a TMS over two years
• Creator information exists on only 22% of entries
• Half the segments are bare: no source document, no domain code, no translator record
• On migration, entries drop to fuzzy matches because the new system has no basis for treating them with full confidence
