I am launching a career coaching pilot where I volunteer my time to anyone who wants to talk about their localization career.

My goal is to be a resource for you. A sounding board and a shoulder to lean on. I welcome discussions on anything– from services to the client side–whether you have been in the industry for years, are just starting out, or are exploring ideas outside of localization.

Why Am I Doing This?

To give back. 🙂

I’ve had incredible opportunities thanks to many amazing people in the localization industry. While I worked hard to earn those opportunities, I know that mentorship and support played a huge role in my journey. I want to share that experience with others.

What's My Background?

My first job in localization was a one-off translation project from Japanese into English. My first 'real' job was as a project manager for a small language service provider (LSP). Over my years in localization, I’ve had good days and bad. It's been a journey that continues to enrich my life.

I don't have all the answers. But I have perspective to share based on:

  • Pivots across multiple roles, from translator and editor to small business owner to enterprise sales to solutions architect to technology program manager.
  • Leading and implementing technology solutions for companies using TMSs, CMSs, LMSs, and workflow automation tools.
  • Facing challenges and overcoming setbacks, like company mergers, industry disruptions, and difficult leadership changes.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: the relationships I’ve built with colleagues, peers, and industry professionals have helped me thrive. My career has been shaped not just by the jobs I’ve had, but by the people I’ve met along the way.
